With over ten years of experience in behavioural optometry, Katie brings a unique, whole-person approach to therapy. Having worked closely with both children and adults, she understands how our thoughts, emotions, and perceptions shape the way we experience the world.

As a psychotherapist, Katie supports clients dealing with challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, and burnout. Drawing from approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), she tailors each session to meet clients where they are — with compassion, curiosity, and respect.

At the heart of Katie’s work is the belief that with help and compassion we can uncover the truest versions of ourselves. Katie provides a safe space to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with goals, values, and authenticity.

Building a life worth living is a conscious choice. Every day we make choices that guide us to be our best selves. My name is Mandy Sproat, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist. I also have an undergranduate degree from the University of Waterloo in Social Development Studies and have completed all of my educational requirements towards my Masters of Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University. I am fully registered with the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and can provide services to those with benefits. Prior to this I completed a diploma in Early Childhood Education and Preschool Resource Teaching and studied at the Neufeld Institute.

Who do I work with & What can I help with?

For the past 25 years I have worked with families and children. I have experience working with preschool children; school aged children; teens; young adults and adults to reach their full potential and to take a look at themselves from the inside out to challenge patterns of thought and encourage them on a journey to self-actualization. I like to work alongside you, as an individual, to best decide our next steps. I take an integrative approach to therapy combining Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT). I also combine elements of attachment theory into our approach. I will be trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) by Dec 2022. I consider myself an ally for the 2S-LGBQT+ community and have also completed the Safer Spaces training.
